Just a few seconds ago a tiny update was released. It just fixes a few errors in the translation files and prevents Dropbox from upgrading to v1.4.7.

Thankyou
Thanks for your work. I’d like to know why you prevent dropbox from upgrading?
I just updated the FAQ to answer your question
I’ve read the whole FAQ, and the answer isn’t there.
It’s the first question?
Oh, I’m sorry. I was looking for a different question
Anyway, I was wondering what’s up with the Dropbox version change – I used to have 1.4.7 while now there’s 1.1.45.
If you use DropboxPortableAHK you always had 1.1.45, because 1.4.7 is not supported. If you use the standard Dropbox application, you might have used another version.
Well, that explains why, when I started up DropboxPortableAHK, I always had to set up Dropbox all over again. It should also explain, why folder shellext always escaped “portability jail” into %AppData%.
Thankyou for fixing the “continuously upgrading” problem
Symantec End Point Protection flags the file as BloodHound.Sonar9…
Some antivirus applications flag compressed executables as virus although there is nothing wrong with them. DropboxPortableAHK does not contain any malicious code. You can send the executable to the support team of your antivirus solution and ask them to have a deeper look at it. They will then (probably) update their database to don’t flag the file anymore.
Hi Nick,
does your dbpAHK as well prevent the Dropbox upgrading process to the newest v.1.4.9 ???
For the most users, yes. For a small amount of users, the automatic prevention does not work and I need to add a few values for every new Dropbox version. However, this was not done for the 1.4.8 and 1.4.9 versions of Dropbox. I will hopefully find some time today or tomorrow to add these.
I just checked my testing setup and my Dropbox version only updates to 1.4.7 and not 1.4.9. So there is no need at the moment and I can’t do anything if my test versions do not update to 1.4.9, because I then cannot extract the needed values.
Well, in theory, you could let it update to 1.4.7 and it could offer you update to 1.4.9 then.
Does Dropbox updates your files to 1.4.9? In my last tests, it only tried to go to 1.4.7, so there was no need for any adjustments.
IT would be helpful if you mentioned this is a windows only software
Thanks, I added the hint to the download links.
After installing this version, the dropboxPortableAHK says it is unable to retrieve the dropbox path. Dropbox works correctly. Looks like config.db does not contain the path anymore and is movd to an encrypted file config.dbx in the latest version of dropbox.
Does the error occur during the setup? That is a known issue, just do not select the option to use your previous configuration file and everything will work fine.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, did not find much time lately.
Hi Nick, nice GUI for make dropbox portable.
Any plan for sharing the source code with the AHK community?
regards, Howy
It is planned, but I am very low on time at the moment. Maybe I will make it until November, but I can’t assure that.
Was muss ich ändern?
LG!
I’m getting “No internet connection could be estableshed” error while running DropboxPortableAHK setup. But this is obviously incorrect, since I’m writing this comment and my internet connection works as expected.
Please send me your debug files (.log files in your .dbfiles directory), you are probably using a proxy server that blocks the connection.
Well, I fixed it – problem was that system internet connection stuff was in “offline” mode (one widget on my desktop complained that I need to switch to online mode to work correctly).
Now DropboxPortableAHK detected online connection correctly.
But you still can take a look at the log here:

Is there any way to get DropboxPortableAHK to work with the new two-step authentication?
Same Problem here, I’d very much appreciate a solution for this.
No, that is not possible, because this feature was added in a later version of Dropbox, which can not be used for DropboxPortableAHK.
However, you can set up a password for DropboxPortableAHK, so Dropbox can not be started without knowing the password.
Hallo,
